This is a great Yixing purple Clay Gaiwan and cups for Taiwanese oolong or black tea. It is important to understand a quality clay Gaiwan: the lid must snug tightly, The surface of the teapot is very smooth, the pouring might not leak any water from the top, and finally, it should not have any bad chemical smell. 

Please make sure to never wash the Gaiwan and cups with soap and only season them with one type of tea. We don't recommend you using this Gaiwan and cups for flavored tea.
